Study Links Expanding Waistlines to Huge Breakfasts

Eating large amounts of high-calorie breakfast foods is the main culprit in the expanding waistlines of people, a new German study published in the Nutrition Journal reveals.

Base on the analysis of the diets of 400 study subjects including 280 individuals who were trying to lose weight, the researchers say that eating a hefty amount of high calorie foods early in the day only reduces the likelihood of late morning snacks, but in general does not result to reduced food consumption during lunch or dinner.

Fatty and calorie-rich breakfast items such as breads, sausages, butter and marmalade are not the best options for people, especially for those trying to lose weight. People are better off with fiber-rich and protein centered diets for much more manageable waistlines.
