A compilation of research on the best days of the week for doing certain things done by the consumer magazine Which? shows that Thursday is the best day for raunchy sex, while doing the grocery shopping is best done on Wednesday. The special study is especially useful for people who are in constant quandary on the scheduling of their daily activities.

It may seem a bit odd doing it in the middle of the week, but having sex on a Thursday morning certainly perks up the remaining days of the week and prepares the body for a relaxing weekend. Such a sex time would not only break the week’s tedium but it can boost the immune system as well. Moreover, there is a more scientific explanation for such a move: special study done by the London School of Economics shows that natural cortisol levels in humans are at their highest on Thursdays. Although the reason is not known why cortisol levels peak right smack in the middle of the week, it is a fact that said biochemical substance stimulates the sex hormones and thus ignites sex drives.

The Which? study also shows that grocery shopping is best done on Wednesday, the day when there are least shoppers in supermarkets. And to completely avoid long queues, shopping after 8PM is the way to go.

For those wanting to sell their houses, listing it on Fridays significantly increases the odds of being sold quickly. Based on data by American real estate giant Redfin, homes placed in the market on a Friday are bought faster than houses that are listed on other days of the week.

Feeling overworked but underpaid? Asking for a raise on a Wednesday ups the possibility of getting one – as a survey conducted by HR company Office Angels shows that most managers are most likely to approve pay increases on that day.
